PRP Challenges Accusers to Provide Evidence Against Senator Shehu Buba Amid Terrorism Claims

The Peoples Redemption Party has thrown down the gauntlet to anyone claiming Senator Shehu Buba has terrorist links. Show the proof, the party says, or stop spreading lies about the Bauchi South lawmaker.

National Publicity Secretary Muhammed Ishaq issued the challenge in a statement released Friday, calling the allegations against Buba a coordinated smear campaign built on falsehoods. The party cited Section 127(c) of the Electoral Act, which penalizes anyone publishing false statements designed to damage a candidate’s chances at the polls. Why would anyone fabricate such serious claims?

The statement came just five days after Buba himself denied fresh allegations tying him to banditry. He’d described viral videos and social media posts as disinformation meant to destroy his reputation.

PRP officials believe the senator’s growing popularity has rattled his opponents, pushing them toward desperate tactics. “We believe his rivals and detractors feel threatened by the spread and depth of his popularity, and have now resorted to peddling outrageous and libelous falsehoods,” the party stated.

The controversy continues to simmer as Nigerians await either concrete evidence or an end to the accusations swirling around the senator.
