The Presidency has launched a sharp on Peter Obi, dismissing his continued insistence that he won the 2023 presidential election as pure hallucination. Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communications, didn’t mince words in his assessment of the Labour Party candidate’s position.
What gives Obi the authority to declare himself winner? Dare posed this question while pointing out that the Supreme Court has already delivered its final judgment on the matter. He described Obi’s stance as driven by excessive ambition and political arrogance, suggesting the former Anambra governor is detached from reality.
The remarks came in response to Obi’s latest comments about the disputed 2023 election. Dare emphasized that only Nigerian voters have the power to determine election outcomes, not individual candidates declaring victory based on their own calculations.
Here’s the reality. The Supreme Court settled this matter decisively. Yet Obi continues to claim otherwise, creating what the Presidency views as a dangerous political fantasy that undermines democratic institutions and court authority.
Dare concluded by reminding Nigerians that the next presidential election will again be decided through the ballot box, suggesting voters will have the final say on the current administration’s performance.
