Lagos Governor Gifts 100 Cars to Civil Service Directors to Boost Efficiency

Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu of Lagos State on Tuesday presented 100 brand new cars to substantive directors in the state civil service, describing the initiative as part of efforts to strengthen institutional capacity and improve governance.

The ceremony took place at the Pavilion Lagos House Ikeja, where all beneficiaries, who are Grade Level 17 directors, received their vehicles. The governor explained that the gesture was designed to enhance efficiency service delivery and motivate civil servants to remain committed to excellence.

“This presentation of 100 brand new cars to our substantive directors is a deliberate investment in the machinery of governance. It is part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional capacity improve governance and ensure that those saddled with critical responsibilities are well supported to deliver effectively,” Sanwo Olu said.

He urged the directors to view the gift as a call to greater responsibility accountability and dedication to public service. The governor emphasized that the initiative recognizes hard work integrity and excellence while inspiring other public servants to remain diligent and loyal.

The Head of Service Mr Olabode Agoro commended the governor for the morale boosting gesture describing it as a demonstration that dedication and performance are valued in the Lagos State Civil Service.

Beneficiary directors including Mrs Shakirat Adeosun thanked the governor noting that the new vehicles would enhance operational efficiency and enable them to carry out their duties with greater ease. Adeosun assured that directors would continue to support government policies and deliver quality public service.

The initiative underscores Lagos State’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for civil servants ensuring that critical public sector functions are executed effectively while rewarding commitment professionalism and excellence.
