APC Chieftain Says Critics “Confused” as Tinubu Operates on “Different Political Frequency”

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje has described critics of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as “confused,” arguing that the President is “operating on a different political frequency.”

Alawuje dismissed claims that figures like Atiku Abubakar, Nasir El-Rufai, or Peter Obi pose a significant electoral threat to Tinubu. He labelled such speculation as “wrong political novice calculations” and called for “truth over political noise.”

Criticising recent commentary attributed to media personality Dele Momodu, Alawuje argued that much political analysis in Nigeria is outdated and disconnected from evolving realities. He suggested that some criticisms of President Tinubu have become a “commercial enterprise,” attracting more media attention than objective insight.

“The Nigeria of today is not operating on recycled assumptions,” Alawuje said, adding that the 2027 election will be “too heavy” for Nasir El-Rufai and “far too complex” for Atiku Abubakar, given entrenched political forces. He also advised Peter Obi to focus on private business interests rather than “political equations that do not add up.”

Highlighting what he described as emerging gains under the Tinubu administration, Alawuje pointed to signs of economic ilisation, including gradual fuel price adjustments following subsidy removal and an improving naira exce rate. He also cited efforts to expose internal sabotage and the adoption of a more strategic diplomatic posture.

While acknowledging that progress may appear gradual, Alawuje insisted it is steady and sustainable. He called for constructive criticism rooted in reality rather than sensational journalism driven by personal relevance or outdated media influence.
