ADC Expels Key Members Over Alleged Constitutional Violations

The African Democratic Congress has announced the expulsion of several prominent members following allegations of misconduct and violations of the party’s constitution. Among those affected are Leke Abejide and Nafiu Bala Gombe, alongside other members accused of breaching internal disciplinary rules.

The decision was disclosed in a statement released by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, after deliberations at the party’s National Convention held on April 14, 2026, in Abuja. The convention was presided over by the National Chairman, David Mark.

According to the statement, the expulsions were the outcome of a formal motion addressing disciplinary concerns within the party. Delegates at the convention thoroughly debated and subsequently ratified the decision, emphasizing the importance of maintaining internal order and adherence to party values.

Other individuals expelled include Kingsley Temitope Ogga, Don Norman Obinna, Kennedy Odion, Clement Ehigiator, Stella Chukwuma, Patrick Ambut, Johny Tovie Derek, Duke , and Elias Adikwu. The party stated that their actions were deemed inconsistent with its guiding principles and code of conduct.

The ADC clarified that all affected individuals cease to be members immediately and are free to pursue political interests elsewhere. It further noted that other political parties are at liberty to accept them if they so choose.

Reaffirming its stance, the party stressed its commitment to discipline, accountability, and democratic ideals. The ADC stated that it remains focused on strengthening its internal structures as it seeks to position itself as a credible alternative in Nigeria’s political landscape.
