The Acting Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers NURTW in Osun State Kazeem Oyewale popularly known as Asiri Eniba has denied allegations linking him to political violence and destruction of campaign billboards in the state.

Speaking with journalists, Oyewale accused the Osun State government of attempting to frame him and members of the union because of their support for the All Progressives Congress APC. He claimed that there were plans to arrest and intimidate him ahead of the 2026 governorship election in the state.

The controversy began after Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke reportedly called for his arrest over allegations of destroying political billboards and harassing members of the Accord Party including an alleged assassination attempt on the governor’s son.

However, Oyewale strongly denied the accusations insisting that he had no connection to any form of political violence. He alleged that political thugs loyal to the government ed his younger brother in 2022 and claimed that justice was never served.

According to him the allegations against him are politically motivated and designed to tarnish his image. He also stated that he had contacted his lawyer and was preparing legal action against Governor Adeleke and the state Commissioner for Information Kolapo Alimi demanding that they prove the allegations in court.

Oyewale further appealed to President Bola Tinubu the Inspector General of Police and Nigerians to intervene claiming that his life was under threat.

He also urged his supporters not to panic assuring them that no intimidation campaign would stop their political activities in Osun State ahead of the next election cycle.
