A prominent ally of the late elder statesman Olusola Saraki Oba Ajara has endorsed the presidential ambition of Gbenga Olawepo Hashim ahead of the 2027 general election.

Oba Ajara a 90 year old veteran politician with more than six decades of active political involvement said his endorsement of Olawepo Hashim was based on the politician’s experience and understanding of Nigeria’s political development.

He described Olawepo Hashim as the only true opposition leader in Nigeria adding that his leadership qualities and courage make him suitable to reposition the country.

Speaking at a political gathering attended by leaders from Kwara Central Oba Ajara said Nigeria needs a strong and responsible opposition to restore balance in the democratic system.

He lamented what he described as the collapse of opposition politics in the country accusing opposition figures of failing to hold government accountable.

According to him the absence of a vibrant opposition has weakened democratic engagement and national development.

He said Gbenga Hashim has remained consistent in advocating for good governance and resisting what he called political subjugation in the country.

Oba Ajara also announced that the Accord Party would serve as the political platform for Olawepo Hashim’s presidential ambition in 2027.

He called on political stakeholders supporters and party loyalists across Kwara State and beyond to rally behind the Accord Party describing it as the emerging platform for a new political movement.

The elder statesman expressed confidence that the movement would gain national traction as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
