Nigerian singer Korede Bello has sparked conversation after encouraging couples to reconsider the growing preference for having fewer children, arguing that exceptional talent can emerge from any child in a family.
In a video shared on Instagram on Tuesday, the “Godwin” crooner reflected on family size and used the legacy of global music icon Michael Jackson as an example to support his point.
Korede Bello suggested that if Michael Jackson’s parents had chosen to stop at having fewer children, the world might never have witnessed his legendary musical impact. He described Jackson’s life as proof that greatness can come from large families.
He said many young couples today appear hesitant about having multiple children, a trend he believes could limit the possibility of discovering exceptional talent in future generations.
The singer questioned the growing preference for smaller families, asking why more households are not open to having larger numbers of children. He emphasized that families should not limit themselves out of fear or lifestyle preferences.
Korede Bello further argued that children are a form of potential waiting to be discovered, suggesting that “soing special” may emerge only when families expand beyond minimal numbers.
Michael Jackson, born in 1958 as part of the famous Jackson family of ten children, rose to become one of the most influential entertainers in global music history before his death in 2009.
Korede’s comments have since generated mixed reactions online, with some agreeing with his perspective on family expansion, while others argue that financial and social realities make large families less practical today.
