Nigerian singer Timi Dakolo has encouraged men to openly discuss their emotional struggles rather than suffer in silence, stressing that expressing pain is healthier than hiding emotions.

The singer shared the message on his X account while announcing his upcoming song titled Brotherly, produced by renowned music producer Cobhams Asuquo. His statement comes amid growing public conversations surrounding the reported marital issues involving media personality Frank Edoho and his former wife, Sandra.

Dakolo warned that bottling up emotions can have dangerous consequences, especially for men who often feel pressured to appear strong despite personal challenges. According to him, speaking out during difficult moments can help prevent regret and emotional breakdown.

In his message, the singer stated that he would rather see men cry and seek help than lose their lives because they kept their pain hidden. He added that the phrase “had I known” should not become a recurring reality for people struggling silently with emotional burdens.

“Brotherly no in silence, talk how e dey do you. I would rather see you in tears than in a coffin. Had I known no be prayer point,” Dakolo wrote while promoting the soon to be released song.

In another post, the singer also reflected on the realities of marriage and relationships, noting that marriage is not always easy. He advised people whose relationships are going well to appreciate their partners instead of mocking couples facing difficulties.

Dakolo urged Nigerians to show empathy, understanding, and support toward people dealing with emotional and relationship struggles. His comments have sparked conversations online about mental health awareness, emotional vulnerability among men, and the pressures associated with marriage and public life.

The singer’s message has been widely praised by fans and social media users who believe more men should feel comfortable discussing their mental and emotional wellbeing openly.
