Nigerian superstar Davido is celebrating 15 years in the music industry, reflecting on a career that has grown from a breakout debut into global Afrobeats dominance. The singer marked the milestone with gratitude, describing his journey as guided by divine timing.

“God is the best of all planners! 15 years in da game,” he wrote on social media, acknowledging his long standing presence in the entertainment industry.

The anniversary also coincides with his recognition on the international stage, including his induction into Atlanta’s Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame, underscoring his influence in shaping modern Afrobeats.

Over the years, Davido has released multiple chart topping songs that helped redefine Nigerian music and expand its global reach. His early breakout single “Back When” introduced him as a rising talent, while “Dami Duro” quickly became a national anthem that elished his mainstream dominance.

Tracks like “Skelewu” and “Aye” strengthened his reputation, with “Aye” winning Song of the Year at The Heas and becoming one of his most celebrated love records.

His international breakthrough gained momentum with “Fans Mi” featuring Meek Mill, marking his entry into the United States market, while “IF” and “Fall” solidified his global appeal. “Fall” in particular became one of the longest charting Nigerian songs internationally and a major milestone for Afrobeats worldwide.

Other major hits such as “FIA,” “Assurance,” and “FEM” further defined different phases of his career, with “FEM” also becoming a symbolic anthem during the #EndSARS protests in Nigeria.

In recent years, collaborations like “Blow My Mind” with Chris Brown and “Unavailable” featuring Musa Keys demonstrated his continued global reach, with the latter earning Grammy recognition and chart success in multiple regions.

His more recent track “With You” featuring Omah Lay further confirmed his staying power, surpassing major streaming milestones and earning additional Grammy attention.

Davido’s 15 year journey highlights not only his personal success but also the global rise of Afrobeats as a dominant music genre, with his catalog playing a key role in its international expansion.
