Pretty Mike has revealed that he spent more than N100 million renovating his Lagos nightclub, Proxy Lagos, after the business was shut down for several months following a raid by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA.

Speaking with journalists at the nightclub, the controversial socialite and nightlife entrepreneur explained that the renovation became necessary to reposition the business and improve customers’ experience after the prolonged closure.

According to Pretty Mike, the club remained closed for about nine months, describing the period as both financially and emotionally difficult for him and members of his team.

“I spent over N100 million renovating the club. After everything that happened, I felt there was a need to rebuild and create soing even better for people who support my business,” he said.

Despite the shutdown, he stated that he remained financially le through various business ventures and support from family members and associates.

He disclosed that apart from nightlife entertainment, he is involved in construction and real estate businesses where he develops and sells properties.

“The brand Pretty Mike is always making money. That is what has kept me afloat regardless,” he added.

Pretty Mike also explained that many people continue to invest in his projects because of the trust and credibility he has built over the years.

Speaking about his controversial public image, the Lagos socialite admitted that controversy has become part of his brand even though he does not intentionally seek scandals.

“My brand is already a controversial brand. It does not necessarily mean I like controversy, but I found out that in this business, it is part of it,” he said.

Interestingly, the nightlife entrepreneur described himself as naturally private, revealing that he actually dislikes loud parties despite owning a nightclub business.

On relationships and marriage, Pretty Mike said he still hopes to settle down in the future, stressing that character, behaviour and personality matter more to him than physical appearance when choosing a life partner.
