Former Imo State Governor Emeka Ihedioha has announced that the African Democratic Congress is set to embark on an extensive door to door mobilisation campaign as part of its strategy to win the 2027 general elections in Imo State.

Ihedioha made this known on Saturday during the party’s state congress held at the Kanu Nwankwo Sports Complex in Owerri. He revealed that the party has already recorded over 200000 registered members across the state, expressing confidence that the growing support base will translate into electoral victory.

According to him, the newly elected party officials have a critical role to play in consolidating the party’s strength and expanding its reach into every community. He stressed that the mobilisation effort would focus on engaging citizens directly and promoting the party’s vision for governance in Imo State.

Also speaking at the event, former governor Achike Udenwa described Imo as one of the strongest chapters of the party nationwide. He noted that the ward and local government congresses were conducted peacefully and reflected the unity within the party. Udenwa urged members to remain committed and work collectively toward repositioning the state.

The National Vice Chairman of ADC South East, Bon Unachukwu, commended the orderly conduct of the congresses, stating that they have created a solid foundation for future electoral success.

During the congress, delegates unanimously re elected James Okoroma as State Chairman. Other key officials elected include Gregory Ihejirika as State Secretary and MacDonald Amadi as Publicity Secretary
