The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, has issued a strong warning to party leaders engaging in unauthorized endorsements of aspirants ahead of the 2027 general elections. The caution follows growing concerns over actions by some local government chairmen who have publicly presented certain individuals as consensus candidates without official approval.

In a statement released on Sunday, Ojelabi described such actions as unacceptable and a violation of the party’s core principles of internal democracy, fairness, and due process. He stressed that these premature endorsements could create unnecessary tension, deepen divisions, and undermine party unity at a critical time.

Ojelabi clarified that the Lagos APC has not yet released any guidelines or timetable for the forthcoming primaries. He emphasized that any attempt to project aspirants as consensus candidates is misleading and lacks the backing of the party leadership. He further warned that disciplinary measures would be taken against individuals who continue to engage in such conduct.

Reassuring party members, Ojelabi stated that all qualified aspirants would be given a level playing field, free from intimidation or undue influence. He urged party officials expected to oversee the primaries to remain neutral and uphold the integrity of the process.

Meanwhile, governorship aspirant Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has intensified consultations with key stakeholders. His recent visits to top party leaders and institutions are part of a broader strategy to build consensus and strengthen support across all levels of the party.

Adediran reaffirmed his commitment to unity, inclusiveness, and respect for party structures, noting that his ambition is rooted in collective progress and continuity of achievements in Lagos State.
