Davido has been selected as an inductee for the 2026 Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame in Atlanta.
The announcement was made by the organisers through an Instagram post on Thursday ahead of the official induction ceremony scheduled for June 1, 2026, in Atlanta’s Historic Westside district.
According to the organisers, Davido was recognised for his global impact in music, philanthropy, and entrepreneurship. They praised the Afrobeats superstar for helping to elevate African music on the international stage through his hit songs, energetic performances, and collaborations with global artists.
The organisers stated that Davido’s influence extends beyond entertainment, noting that his contributions have inspired a new generation of musicians and creatives around the world while keeping strong ties to his African heritage.
The recognition places the Nigerian singer among respected entertainers and cultural icons celebrated for their contributions to Black music and global culture. Other personalities listed among the 2026 inductees include Ludacris, Paul Morton, and former Atlanta mayor Maynard Jackson.
The induction ceremony is expected to take place along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Northside Drive outside Mercedes Benz Stadium.
The Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame was elished by the Black American Music Association and the Georgia Entertainment Caucus to honour Black entertainers, musicians, and cultural figures who have significantly shaped the global entertainment industry.
Inductees receive commemorative plaques placed along the Atlanta walkway in recognition of their influence on Black culture and music worldwide.
