Golf legend Tiger Woods has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence following a rollover crash near his home in Jupiter Island, marking another troubling moment in the 15 time major champion’s career.

According to authorities, Woods, 50, was involved in the accident on a residential road after attempting to overtake a truck. His vehicle clipped the other car, flipped onto its side, and slid before coming to a stop. Fortunately, neither Woods nor the other driver sustained injuries.

John Budensiek confirmed that Woods showed visible signs of impairment at the scene, although he reportedly passed a breathalyzer test. However, Woods refused to undergo a urinalysis, which under Florida law led to additional charges, including refusal to submit to a lawful test and property damage.

Law enforcement officials noted that drug recognition experts found Woods appearing lethargic and suspected he may have been under the influence of medication or another substance. No drugs were recovered from his vehicle, and without further testing, authorities say the exact cause of impairment may never be confirmed.

Woods was detained for eight hours before being released later শুক্রবার. A booking photo showed the golfer looking visibly strained shortly after the incident.

Officials described the crash as potentially far more serious, noting that the outcome could have been worse if other vehicles had been approaching from the opposite direction.

The incident echoes Woods’ previous 2017 arrest for impaired driving, as well as a serious 2021 crash in California that left him with significant leg injuries and required multiple surgeries.

Despite ongoing health challenges, Woods has continued to pursue a return to competitive golf, including appearances at major events such as The Masters, where he has recorded five victories.

The latest development raises fresh questions about his future both on and off the course, as fans and the sporting world await further updates.
