Controversial Nigerian street pop artist Portable has reportedly survived a road accident in Ogun State just a day before the naming ceremony of his newborn baby.
The incident occurred on Thursday night while the singer was preparing for the celebration. According to Portable, his vehicle suffered brake failure, forcing him to steer into a ditch to avoid a collision with another car.
In a video shared on his Instagram story, the singer expressed gratitude for surviving the crash unhurt and described the experience as a close call.
Portable said he suddenly noticed that his car had lost its brakes while driving and had to react quickly to avoid a more serious impact. He thanked God for saving his life and said he could have easily become a casualty if the situation had been worse.
He also mentioned that emergency responders and associates arrived at the scene shortly after the incident. The singer expressed relief that no trailer or heavy truck was passing at the time of the crash, saying the outcome could have been far more tragic.
Despite the scare Portable confirmed that preparations for his son’s naming ceremony were still ongoing. He revealed that he had already purchased two cows for the event and planned to proceed with the celebration.
The singer’s partner Bewaji recently welcomed their child during Portable’s boxing appearance with Carter Efe earlier in May 2026.
Portable is known for frequently sharing updates about his personal life and has remained a trending figure in Nigeria’s street music scene.
