Nollywood actress Sophia Chisom popularly known as Soso has stated that actors should approach onscreen kissing scenes professionally rather than seeking personal pleasure from them.
The actress made the remark while reacting to comments by some actors who complained that they had never experienced a good kiss while working in the movie industry.
Speaking during an interview with TVC, Soso explained that she maintains strict boundaries whenever filming romantic scenes. According to her, it is difficult for any male colleague to get what could be described as a good kiss from her because she does not involve her tongue during kissing scenes.
“I don’t know if people kiss with their tongues but I do not kiss with my tongue. My teeth are always close during kissing scenes so it is just the lips. But because it is an act we have to make it believable,” she said.
The actress stressed that she is careful about excing saliva with different actors while filming, insisting that onscreen intimacy should remain strictly professional because acting is a job and not a personal relationship.
“Some people kiss with their tongues but I don’t think it is okay to swap saliva with every single person that you with. Besides it is a job. So whenever I see a colleague complaining that they didn’t get a good kiss it is weird. You are not supposed to get a good kiss it is a job,” she added.
Soso’s comments come after some Nollywood actors including Saga Adeolu recently stated that onscreen kisses are often awkward and not pleasurable despite how romantic they may appear to viewers.
Her remarks have sparked conversations online about professionalism boundaries and personal comfort within the entertainment industry.
