The Peoples Democratic Party has strongly rejected reports suggesting a possible alliance with the African Democratic Congress, warning that it may pursue legal action against individuals spreading what it described as false and misleading claims.

Speaking at the inaugural National Working Committee meeting in Abuja, factional National Chairman Abdulrahman Muhammed, who is aligned with Nyesom Wike, stated clearly that the party is not engaged in any merger or coalition discussions with any political group. He emphasized that the PDP remains focused on rebuilding its structure and strengthening its position as a credible alternative ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Muhammed also criticized statements attributed to Kabiru Taminu Turaki, describing them as inaccurate and an attempt to create a false narrative about ongoing coalition talks. According to him, such claims are deliberate efforts to misinform the public and damage the integrity of the party.

He noted that while the PDP respects freedom of expression, it will not tolerate actions that could harm its reputation, adding that the party is prepared to take necessary legal steps against any misrepresentation.

On internal matters, Muhammed declared that the party has moved beyond its leadership crisis, noting that the Independent National Electoral Commission has officially recognized its leadership. He described the recent national convention as one of the most organized and credible in the country’s opposition history.

Looking ahead, the PDP assured Nigerians of its commitment to presenting strong leadership and practical solutions, declaring that the party is united, le, and ready to reclaim power.
