While millions of Nigerians grapple with rising costs and economic uncertainty, members of a presidential campaign platform are reportedly traveling in private jets and displaying ostentatious wealth. The Nigeria Democratic Congress has condemned what it calls the “tone-deaf conduct” of the City Boys Movement, a group aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
National spokesman Osa Director didn’t mince words. He described the alleged extravagance as a clear sign of how disconnected the current administration has become from ordinary citizens. The contrast is stark: government officials calling for patience while seemingly living without financial constraints.
“The nation is at the precipice,” Director warned in his statement. He questioned how Nigeria can address widespread poverty while funding what he termed the luxurious lifestyles of corrupt politicians. The opposition party insists taxpayers’ money is being squandered on opulence.
Director pointed to his party’s presidential candidate as an alternative, emphasizing a track record of zero tolerance for government waste. The message is clear: vote out the current administration.
