Winner of Big Brother Naija Lockdown, Laycon, has revealed that his victory on the reality show had a profound impact on his family, including helping to save his mother’s life.

Speaking during an interview on the Echo Room podcast, the rapper opened up about his journey before and after the show, describing how difficult circumstances at home ced dramatically following his rise to fame. According to him, the exposure and financial rewards from winning the competition came at a critical time.

“Winning BBNaija saved my mother’s life,” he said, explaining that the opportunities that followed enabled him to access the support his family urgently needed.

Laycon noted that beyond financial relief, the experience brought a new level of responsibility and awareness about life outside entertainment. However, he also admitted that sudden fame came with its own challenges.

Reflecting on his personal struggles after the show, he revealed that he lost touch with his inner voice due to the pressure of public expectations and constant attention. He said navigating fame required adjusting his mindset and making careful decisions about his career.

The artist explained that his transition into acting and filmmaking was largely influenced by opportunities that came his way because of his popularity. Producers, he said, approached him for roles based on his visibility rather than proven acting ss.

Despite this, Laycon maintained a cautious approach, questioning the motives behind such offers and choosing projects thoughtfully. He later explored other creative paths, including scriptwriting and further education, as he worked to balance multiple interests.

He added that public opinion often shapes how his decisions are perceived, but he remains focused on building a career rooted in growth and authenticity.

Laycon’s story highlights both the transformative power of reality television and the complex realities of sudden fame, as he continues to navigate life after the spotlight.
