Kwara North Traditional Rulers Thank AbdulRazaq Over APC Governorship Ticket

Traditional rulers from the Kwara North Senatorial District have paid a thank you visit to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq following the emergence of the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly Salihu Danladi as the All Progressives Congress APC governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections.

The delegation led by the Etsu Patigi Alhaji Ibrahim Bologi II visited the Government House in Ilorin where they expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu Governor AbdulRazaq and APC stakeholders for supporting the zoning of the governorship ticket to Kwara North.

Speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers the Etsu Patigi described the development as a major victory for fairness equity and political inclusion in Kwara State. He said the people of Kwara North had long demanded equal opportunities in the rotation of political leadership.

“Your Excellency the entire people of Kwara North are here to thank you for what you have done for us. One of our sons Rt Hon Salihu Yakubu Danladi has become the APC governorship flagbearer and we are immensely grateful,” he said.

The monarch also commended the governor for developmental projects across the region including improvements in roads healthcare and electrification. According to him the people of Kwara North appreciate the attention the administration has given to the area.

The traditional rulers equally praised President Bola Tinubu for supporting a process they believe promoted justice and unity within the APC.

Responding Governor AbdulRazaq described the visit as a strong sign of unity and support for equitable power rotation in the state. He stated that moving political leadership across different regions was important for fairness peace and a sense of belonging among citizens.

The governor explained that the decision to support a candidate from Kwara North aligned with broader principles of inclusion and balanced representation similar to political arrangements at the national level.

AbdulRazaq urged residents and political stakeholders in Kwara North to remain united and work together to ensure victory for the APC in the 2027 governorship election. He warned that failing to maximize the opportunity could affect future political chances for the region.

The governor also thanked President Tinubu for his leadership and support in resolving political matters within the APC ahead of the elections.
