Officials from Ghana and Zambia have announced a visa free travel agreement designed to promote regional mobility, economic exce and deeper integration between the two African nations. The new arrangement allows citizens of both countries to travel without visa requirements for short stays, a move lauded by government authorities and business groups.

The visa free policy is expected to stimulate tourism, facilitate business travel and strengthen cultural ties between the West African and Southern African nations. Leaders from both capitals stated that reducing travel barriers aligns with broader continental ambitions for increased mobility under regional cooperation frameworks.

Trade associations praised the development as a boost for small and medium sized enterprises that rely on ease of movement to expand markets and foster partnerships. Meanwhile civil society organisations highlighted the agreement’s potential to enhance people to people connections and support cross border collaboration in education, tourism and commerce.

Observers noted that visa free regimes between African states contribute to long term regional integration goals, while also strengthening diplomatic ties and improving economic prospects for participating nations.
