United Nations Condemns Terror in Nigeria and Reaffirms Support

The United Nations Secretary General has strongly condemned a recent terrorist in Nigeria’s Kwara State in which more than one hundred people lost their lives, according to the United Nations spokesman. The Secretary General conveyed heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families and to the government and people of Nigeria, and emphasized the organization’s solidarity in supporting counterterrorism efforts and the rule of law.

In remarks delivered at the United Nations noon briefing, the Secretary General reiterated the need for justice and accountability for perpetrators, while underlining the importance of addressing the underlying causes of violent extremism. The statement also stressed the necessity of coordinated international action to prevent similar trages.

The condemnation reflects broader United Nations advocacy for strengthened collaboration between local authorities and global institutions to protect civilians and promote long term ility throughout regions experiencing ongoing security threats.
