Moroccan authorities have evacuated more than one hundred thousand residents across several provinces in response to widespread flooding caused by intense rainfall, officials reported. Emergency shelters and reception centres were elished to provide shelter, food, and medical assistance to those displaced by inundated communities and damaged infrastructure.

Authorities said the evacuations were necessary to ensure public safety as rivers overflowed and roads became impassable, prompting urgent relief operations. Government officials also mobilised local emergency services and national agencies to coordinate response efforts and minimise further loss of life.

Climate analysts noted that the flooding followed extreme weather patterns intensifying across multiple regions, raising concerns about the frequency and severity of such events. The government pledged continued support for affected populations and emphasised the need to bolster disaster preparedness strategies.
