Author and Christian apologist Frank Turek has released a new book dedicated to defending Christian worldviews, a mission deeply connected to his late friend and mentee Charlie Kirk. The Turning Point USA founder was fatally shot on September 10 at Utah Valley University during the organization’s American Comeback Tour.
The book, titled ‘The War on Reality: Recovering Truth in a World that Celebrates Lies’, was co-authored with Phoenix Hayes. Kirk’s widow, Erika, penned the foreword, revealing insights into her husband’s confidence during campus debates. According to Turek, Kirk’s unshakeable foundation stemmed from his Christian faith, which enabled him to remain composed even in hostile environments.
Their relationship began in 2020. Kirk had approached Turek seeking mentorship in Christian apologetics, the practice of defending Christianity through evidence and reasoning. Turek was standing nearby when Kirk was ed, making the tragedy profoundly personal.
The book addresses controversial cultural topics including transgender policies, gender issues, and family values. Turek argues that contemporary cultural positions contradict logical reasoning and aims to equip Christians with tools to challenge prevailing narratives. He describes Kirk as exceptionally humble despite his intellect, noting their frequent discussions about questions Kirk might encounter during campus appearances.
