Atiku Promises Affordable Living as He Criticizes Tinubu’s Economic Policies Ahead of 2027

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has launched a scathing on President Bola Tinubu’s economic management, promising to restore affordability if elected in 2027. Speaking through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, the African Democratic Congress presidential candidate accused the current administration of emptying Nigerians’ pockets.

What exactly has gone wrong? According to Atiku, Tinubu’s policies have triggered a cascade of rising costs across fuel, food, and transportation. Businesses are struggling. Families can’t make ends meet. The relief Nigerians desperately need remains elusive.

Atiku didn’t mince words in his statement issued on Sunday. “Nigerians have now seen what Tinubu’s economics means in their daily lives,” he declared, listing higher prices and weaker businesses as the administration’s legacy. He insists patience is no longer an acceptable response to economic pain.

The former Vice President outlined his alternative vision: local production, domestic refining, job creation, and lower living costs. His pitch centers on putting money back into Nigerian pockets rather than taking it out.

With the 2027 elections approaching, Atiku’s message is straightforward. He’s positioning himself as the antidote to what he describes as Tinubu’s expensive governance model.
