The newly deployed Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, Micheal Falade, has pledged to take a firm stance against criminal activities, warning that offenders will face the full weight of the law.

Speaking during his official resumption at the command headquarters in Ado Ekiti, Falade described his appointment as a significant milestone in his career and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve the people.

He assured residents of a policing strategy that is both people friendly and professional, emphasizing integrity, accountability, and respect for human rights. According to him, protecting lives and property will remain the top priority of his administration.

The commissioner also paid tribute to his predecessor, Joseph Eribo, acknowledging his contributions and promising to build on the foundation already elished.

Highlighting the role of intelligence in modern policing, Falade urged residents to support security agencies by providing timely and credible information. He noted that criminal elements represent only a small portion of society and can be effectively tackled through collective effort.

Falade revealed that his strategy will include intelligence led policing, increased visibility of officers, and targeted raids on criminal hideouts. He added that coordinated operations will be carried out to ensure that residents can go about their daily activities without fear.

He further assured that security at the state’s borders would be strengthened in collaboration with other agencies and local security outfits to prevent infiltration by criminals.

Reaffirming his commitment to justice, the police chief warned that human rights violations by officers would not be tolerated. He also pledged to improve the welfare and professionalism of personnel under his command.

Falade called on community leaders, organisations, and the media to partner with the police, stressing that collective action remains essential to achieving lasting security in Ekiti State.
