Former Chief of Army Staff Tukur Buratai has dismissed reports alleging that he criticised President Bola Tinubu and praised an opposition coalition, describing the publication as false and malicious.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Buratai strongly denied making any comments suggesting that the Tinubu administration had failed to meet expectations. He insisted that the report lacked credibility and failed to provide details of where or when the alleged remarks were made.

According to the retired general, the publication was fabricated to damage his reputation and mislead the public. He challenged those behind the story to produce evidence proving he made the statements attributed to him, maintaining that no such evidence exists.

Buratai reaffirmed his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress and declared his continued support for the current administration. He described himself as a committed member of the ruling party and stated that his loyalty to constituted authority remains unced after decades of military service.

The former Nigerian Ambassador to the Benin said his more than 40 years in the military instilled discipline and allegiance to lawful leadership, values he said continue to guide him in retirement.

He also pledged support for the Federal Government’s ongoing security operations, especially efforts by the military to combat insurgency and restore ility across the country. Buratai stressed that he would continue backing the administration in the fight against insecurity.

The retired army chief further accused the publishers of the report of repeatedly spreading misinformation aimed at tarnishing his image. He claimed that similar attempts had been made in the past but failed to damage his standing.

Buratai urged Nigerians to ignore the publication, describing it as a product of falsehood and personal hatred. He expressed confidence that those behind the alleged misinformation campaign would not succeed in their efforts to undermine him or create confusion within the ruling party.
