Fans of Adekunle Gold and Seyi Vibez have engaged in heated debates online following a controversial lyric from Adekunle Gold’s newly released song Life of the Faaji.
The controversy began after Adekunle Gold sang, “They love my Fuji, this no be Fuji Moto,” a line many listeners interpreted as a subtle jab at Seyi Vibez and his 2025 Fuji inspired project Fuji Moto.
Although Adekunle Gold did not directly mention Seyi Vibez in the track, social media users quickly linked the lyric to the street pop star because both artistes have recently embraced Fuji inspired sounds in their music.
The situation escalated after Seyi Vibez reacted strongly on X, formerly known as Twitter, where he openly criticized Adekunle Gold.
“You are wack. Adekunle Gold you’re wack. And your swag is wack. Old fool!” Seyi Vibez posted.
In another post, he added, “Adekunle panda Egbon ofo! Egbon ya.”
The exce immediately sparked reactions from fans, with supporters of both artistes defending their favorites and arguing over whether the lyric was truly a diss or simply a play on words.
Several users defended Adekunle Gold, insisting the lyric was harmless and not intended as an on Seyi Vibez. Others argued that Seyi Vibez overreacted and turned a simple rhyme into unnecessary drama.
However, supporters of Seyi Vibez maintained that the line was disrespectful, especially because it referenced the title of his project. Some fans accused Adekunle Gold of trying to undermine Seyi Vibez’s work while promoting his own Fuji influenced music.
The rivalry gained more attention because both singers recently explored Fuji sounds in their projects. In October 2025, Adekunle Gold released Fuji Xtra, blending traditional Yoruba Fuji rhythms with Afrobeats and pop music. Weeks later, Seyi Vibez unveiled Fuji Moto, a project rooted in Fuji, street pop, and hip hop influences.
Seyi Vibez has previously described Fuji music as a major influence on his upbringing and musical identity, saying the genre reflects real life experiences, struggle, joy, and prayer.
