Veteran Nigerian television host Frank Edoho has shared new details about his early earnings on the popular game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire revealing that he initially earned just a little above N100000 per month despite portraying an image of wealth on screen.

In a video posted on his Instagram page Edoho explained that during the first two years of hosting the show his salary was modest but he was still required to appear stylish and confident as the face of a high stakes television programme.

He noted that although his income was relatively low at the time he had to dress in expensive looking suits and maintain a polished appearance that suggested financial success and sophistication to viewers.

Edoho further revealed that his earnings improved significantly when telecommunications giant MTN became the show’s sponsor. According to him he personally negotiated a better pay structure with the production leadership which included backdated payments for previous months.

The improved contract marked a turning point in his career as he began to receive higher income and more visibility in the entertainment industry. He explained that this new phase led to opportunities to host major events across Nigeria and increased his presence in the public eye.

Edoho also reflected on the personal discipline required to manage challenges while maintaining focus on professional growth. He said he learned to separate personal difficulties from work responsibilities in order to remain effective and successful in his career.

Over the years Frank Edoho became one of Nigeria’s most recognisable television personalities hosting the programme for more than a decade and earning respect for his professionalism and presentation style.

His story highlights the behind the scenes realities of television careers where public perception of success often differs from early financial beginnings.
