The Adamawa State Government has finalised arrangements to receive President Bola Tinubu for a one day official visit scheduled for Monday. The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr James Iliya, disclosed this in Yola, noting that the visit underscores national recognition of the developmental achievements recorded under Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.

According to Iliya, the president’s visit will feature the inauguration of several landmark projects executed by the Fintiri administration. He described the visit as a validation of the government’s commitment to improving the living standards of citizens through strategic investments in key sectors.

Among the projects lined up for inauguration are the newly constructed underpass at the former Bekaji Roundabout, the expanded Bank Road in Yola, and a model school in Yola North Local Government Area. The model school is one of 21 newly built schools across the state aimed at strengthening the education sector.

President Tinubu is also expected to perform the groundbreaking ceremony for a new NYSC permanent orientation camp in Malkohi and commission the ultra modern High Court Complex. Other projects include the unveiling of the automated gate at Government House and the inauguration of the newly constructed Governor’s Office complex.

Iliya stated that the projects cut across education, infrastructure, justice administration, governance, security, healthcare, and human capital development.

Meanwhile, the Adamawa State Police Command has intensified security across the state ahead of the visit. Commissioner of Police Morris Dankombo has ordered the deployment of operational units including the Police Mobile Force, Counter Terrorism Unit, Surveillance Squad, and Crowd and Traffic Control Unit to ensure a peaceful event.

Residents have been urged to remain law abiding and turn out in large numbers to welcome the president.
