Governor Dauda Lawal on Friday donated vehicles to 40 Jumma’at Mosque imams as part of his administration’s support for their dedicated service to communities across Zamfara State.

Presenting the cars, Lawal explained that the gesture was aimed at improving the mobility of the clerics, enabling them to enhance their preaching and outreach activities. He emphasized that Zamfara, a state founded on strong Islamic principles, has numerous imams serving its 14 local government areas.

“Mobility is essential, especially for preaching and community engagements. That is why we have selected 40 imams in this first phase to receive vehicles to ease their movement,” the governor said. He added that the initiative would continue in subsequent phases.

Lawal also called on the imams to pray for sustainable peace in Zamfara and across Nigeria.

Earlier, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious Affairs, Sheikh Bello Almufty, commended the governor as a leader committed to truth, justice, and inclusive development. He noted that Lawal’s administration had delivered tangible welfare improvements, including allowances and housing support for imams.

Sheikh Atiku Zawiyya, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, praised the donation, saying it would strengthen their service to the people. He prayed for the governor’s continued success and blessings. The imams also expressed gratitude and pledged to promote peace, unity, and moral values in their communities.
