President Bola Tinubu has emerged victorious in the All Progressives Congress presidential primary election in Osun State after securing an overwhelming majority of votes during the exercise held on Saturday.

Tinubu polled 100880 votes, while his opponent, Stanley Osifo, recorded zero votes in the statewide primary conducted across the 30 local government areas and the Ife East Area Office.

The result was officially announced in Osogbo by the Osun State collation officer and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola. He commended APC members for maintaining peace and order throughout the exercise and described the process as a reflection of the party’s democratic values and unity.

According to Oyetola, the APC has 109806 digitally registered members in Osun State, out of which 100880 members were successfully accredited and participated in the primary election.

Declaring Tinubu as the winner, Oyetola urged party members to remain united and committed as preparations begin for future electoral contests, especially the forthcoming Osun governorship election scheduled for August 15 2026.

He noted that the peaceful conduct recorded during the primary election demonstrated the strength, cohesion, and transparency within the APC. Oyetola also praised party members for their dedication and participation in the democratic process across the state.

The Osun result adds to Tinubu’s growing dominance in the APC presidential primaries nationwide as party members continue to show strong support for his bid to remain the party’s presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Political observers believe the large turnout and overwhelming votes in favour of the president highlight his influence within the ruling party and reinforce confidence among supporters as the election season approaches.

The APC presidential primaries have continued across different states with party leaders emphasizing unity, internal democracy, and mobilisation ahead of the next national elections.
