Tinubu Secures APC Presidential Ticket with Over 10 Million Votes

President Bola Tinubu has secured the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress APC for the 2027 general elections after winning the party’s first nationwide direct primary with a landslide victory.

Tinubu polled 10999162 votes defeating his only challenger Stanley Osifo who secured 16503 votes in the exercise conducted across 8809 wards in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The results were announced in Abuja by the Chairman of the APC Presidential Primary Election Committee Anyim Pius Anyim who described the process as a major milestone for internal democracy within the ruling party.

Tinubu recorded his highest votes in Lagos with 814988 votes followed by Adamawa with 644149 and Kaduna with 618914. He also posted strong numbers in states including Imo Kano Katsina and Gombe showing widespread support across different regions of the country.

In contrast Osifo recorded low figures nationwide and failed to secure any vote in several states including Enugu Ondo Rivers Akwa Ibom and Sokoto.

Speaking after receiving his Certificate of Return and the APC flag as the party’s candidate for the 2027 presidential election Tinubu pledged to continue the reforms introduced by his administration and warned Nigerians against supporting politicians without clear visions for the country.

The President highlighted achievements recorded under his administration including economic reforms infrastructure development improved power supply and the student loan programme which he said has benefited more than 1.5 million Nigerians.

Tinubu also promised to strengthen security improve the economy and build a more inclusive government if re elected in 2027. He stressed that democracy thrives on diversity of opinions and expressed readiness to engage critics and political opponents through dialogue.

Meanwhile attention has shifted to the African Democratic Congress ADC where former Vice President Atiku Abubakar former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi and economist Mohammed Hayattu Deen are set to contest for the party’s presidential ticket.
