The ADC statement pointedly observed that while government officials celebrate macroeconomic statistics and technical indicators, Nigerians cannot eat data points or theoretical growth figures.
Security concerns feature prominently in the opposition’s assessment of the administration’s failures. Farmers in many regions reportedly remain unable to safely access their agricultural land due to threats from bandits, kidnappers, and other armed groups. These ongoing security challenges have compounded food scarcity issues, creating a vicious cycle where production declines even as prices soar.
