The defense ministry said new protocols aim to detect respond to and recover from cyber incidents more effectively. Investments will be made in training cybersecurity professionals and upgrading monitoring systems. Authorities stressed that cyber threats have become a key national security concern.

Experts welcomed the move noting increased risks from ransomware espionage and disinformation campaigns. Sweden plans to align its efforts with broader European security frameworks.
