Remita, one of Nigeria’s leading fintech companies, has announced measures to ease the registration process for candidates seeking admission into tertiary institutions as registration opens for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and Direct Entry programmes.
The company said its platform enables candidates and their families to navigate the digital registration process more efficiently by securing JAMB ePINs in a structured and data-driven manner. The registration process, often regarded as a major hurdle in Nigeria’s highly competitive higher education system, requires strict adherence to timelines and procedures.
In a statement released on Friday, Remita disclosed that it has upgraded its platform to reduce friction, enhance digital connectivity among students, parents, and institutions, and deliver a smoother experience for candidates completing this crucial administrative requirement.
Through its enhanced website and mobile application, Remita allows candidates and parents to pay for JAMB services directly, track transactions in real time, obtain original receipts, and earn rewards for every payment made. The company noted that these features ensure secure and efficient payments while eliminating reliance on third-party intermediaries.
Remita also said it is extending its services to trusted partners within the education ecosystem, including schools and training institutions. These organisations can now process ePINs seamlessly within their internal systems, helping to reduce operational stress and protect candidates from fraud and exploitation.
Commenting on the initiative, Executive Director of Business Development at Remita, Abayomi Oniku, described education as Nigeria’s most valuable long-term investment. He said the company remains committed to ensuring that payment processes support, rather than hinder, access to educational opportunities.
Similarly, the Head of Digital Assets and Partnerships at Remita, Alisa Chinedu, said the company has made the JAMB ePIN experience more intuitive through the introduction of an AI assistant and stronger collaboration with trusted institutions.
Remita added that the initiative underscores its commitment to financial inclusion, digital access, and economic participation, as it continues to serve as a key national payments and digital public infrastructure provider.
Im not convinced that Remita truly simplifies the JAMB registration process. Seems like just another tech gimmick to me.
