Popular Nigerian streamer Carter Efe has likened himself to boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr after defeating street pop artist Portable in a celebrity boxing match held in Lagos.

The bout took place at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, as part of the Chaos in the Ring 4 event, where all three judges scored the contest 27 to 30 in favor of Efe. The match drew significant attention from fans and entertainment followers, blending sports with celebrity culture.

Speaking after the fight, Efe dismissed comparisons to Anthony Joshua, instead boldly adopting a new nickname inspired by Mayweather. “Who called me Anthony Joshua My name is Carter Mayweather,” he said to cheers from the crowd, expressing confidence in his performance.

Efe described the fight as straightforward, claiming he dominated from the opening round. According to him, his opponent began to weaken early, leading to a decisive outcome by the third round.

Riding on the momentum of his victory, the streamer expressed ambitions to pursue boxing on a larger stage beyond Nigeria. He credited his success to faith and determination, saying he believes greater opportunities lie ahead if he remains focused.

When asked about the possibility of a rematch with Portable, Efe remained undecided, stating he would consider it after taking time to rest.

The event highlights the growing trend of celebrity boxing in Nigeria, where entertainers and influencers step into the ring to engage fans in new and unconventional ways.
