Senator Ned Nwoko has officially declared his intention to seek reelection into the 11th Senate in 2027, aiming to retain the Delta North Senatorial seat in the National Assembly.

Nwoko made the announcement on Friday upon arrival at Asaba Airport, accompanied by former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege. He stated that his decision was driven by a commitment to continue delivering meaningful service to the Anioma people.

According to the lawmaker, although the contest remains open to all, the people of Delta North are determined to move away from what he described as outdated political practices. He expressed confidence in his track record, noting that he has consistently championed the Anioma cause and addressed key issues affecting the region.

“I have done well as a senator and remained committed to the people. I understand their challenges and have continued to work towards solving them,” he said.

On the long standing agitation for the creation of Anioma State, Nwoko referenced recent remarks by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, expressing optimism that the proposed state would be realized, with Asaba as its capital.

He also reaffirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that he has believed in his leadership from the outset and remains aligned with his administration’s national agenda.

Highlighting his achievements, Nwoko pointed to ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and living conditions in Anioma land, including advocacy for le electricity through the Okpai Power Plant, completion of the Ogwashi Uku Dam, and development of a coastal road linking key communities.

He also cited investments in education, including support for upgrading institutions and providing scholarships to hundreds of students, as part of his broader empowerment strategy.

The senator urged his supporters to remain steadfast and focused on progressive politics, emphasizing the need to build on existing development efforts rather than revert to old political systems.
