Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan Declares Re Election Bid, Urges PDP Unity in Kogi Central

Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has officially declared her intention to seek re election for a second term as senator representing Kogi Central, citing strong support from constituents, party stakeholders, and her family.

The announcement was made during a Peoples Democratic Party stakeholders meeting in Kogi Central, where leaders gathered to discuss the party’s direction ahead of future elections. According to a statement released in Abuja, the lawmaker said her decision followed months of consultations and appeals from across the district.

“After due consultations and encouragement from my husband, I have accepted your calls to re contest for a second term as your senator,” she said.

Her declaration comes amid growing endorsements from party members and community leaders across the five local government areas of Kogi Central, signaling significant grassroots backing for her candidacy.

Akpoti Uduaghan also emphasized the importance of unity within the Peoples Democratic Party, urging members to reconcile differences and work collectively toward electoral success.

“This is the time to bring everyone back home. We must reconcile with those who may have had issues, for the betterment of our party and success in the elections ahead,” she added.

At the meeting, Kogi Central PDP Zonal Chairman Anthony Akuvada praised her leadership, describing her as a transformational figure whose tenure has positively impacted the district through infrastructure development and human capital initiatives.

During her first term, the senator has focused on education, youth and women empowerment, as well as advocacy for improved infrastructure, earning support across political and social lines.

She also expressed gratitude to her husband, Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan, whom she described as a strong pillar throughout her political journey.
