The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture has stepped up efforts to strengthen bilateral trade and industrial cooperation with China through a strategic visit to key manufacturing and commercial hubs in Guangzhou.
Led by its National President, Jani Ibrahim, the delegation toured major facilities including Wanli Tire Corporation Limited and Guangda Fashion World, gaining firsthand insight into China’s industrial scale and efficiency.
The visit followed the successful NACCIMA Business and Investment Forum, which resulted in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangzhou to boost economic collaboration between both nations.
At Wanli Tire Corporation, a major player under the Guangzhou Industrial Investment Holding Group, the delegation observed advanced production processes at a facility with an annual capacity of 36 million passenger car tyres. Ibrahim described the company as a cornerstone of China’s manufacturing strength and commended its operational efficiency.
He also acknowledged the role of Mairo Musa Abbas in facilitating the visit, noting that such engagements are crucial for deepening economic ties.
Ibrahim used the opportunity to invite Chinese manufacturers to invest in Nigeria, highlighting the country’s potential as a gateway to the African market. He assured prospective investors of NACCIMA’s support in navigating the local business environment.
The delegation’s tour of Guangda Fashion World further exposed members to a vast, well organized marketplace showcasing clothing, footwear, and leather goods from global brands. Ibrahim emphasized the need for Nigeria to adopt a production driven model similar to China’s, positioning itself as a manufacturing and distribution hub for Africa.
According to NACCIMA, the tour provided valuable insights into modern supply chains, industrial systems, and large scale production, reinforcing its commitment to fostering technology transfer, industrial partnerships, and increased investment flows between Nigeria and China.
