Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has denied reports suggesting that she snubbed popular Fuji musician Pasuma at a recent Lagos event over the weekend.
A video circulating on X showed the moment Pasuma appeared to try to get Akindele attention while she was engaged in conversation with another guest. In the clip, the actress continued speaking with the person beside her, after which Pasuma reportedly returned to his seat.
The video quickly went viral, sparking mixed reactions online, with some users alleging that the actress deliberately ignored the music star.
An X user identified as Uoladiti shared the clip with the caption suggesting that Akindele had snubbed Pasuma publicly, a claim that fueled further debate across social media platforms.
However, Funke Akindele has now reacted to the speculation, firmly dismissing the allegations and describing them as false and unnecessary negativity.
She explained that there was no form of disrespect, stating that she greeted and also danced with Pasuma at the same event.
According to her, Pasuma is an elder brother figure to her, and there was no intentional act of snubbing involved.
Her response aimed to correct what she described as a misinterpretation of the viral video, urging the public to avoid spreading misleading narratives.
The clarification comes amid ongoing public attention around her interactions at social events, following recent discussions involving fellow actress Toyin Abraham.
Despite the online controversy, Akindele maintains that there is no bad blood between her and Pasuma, emphasizing mutual respect between both entertainers.
The incident highlights how short social media clips can quickly fuel misunderstandings and shape public perception of celebrity interactions.
