Fubara Urges Support for Tinubu’s Second Term at Southern Traditional Rulers Meeting

The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has called on Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office, citing the need for continuity in governance and development.

Fubara made the appeal on Thursday while declaring open a meeting of the Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council in Port Harcourt. He described Tinubu as a dedicated and patriotic leader whose policies, under the Renewed Hope Agenda, are already driving economic transformation and infrastructure development across the country.

Highlighting achievements of the current administration, the governor pointed to ongoing projects and reforms, including major road constructions and economic initiatives aimed at ilizing and growing the nation’s economy. He expressed confidence that more progress would be achieved if the president is re-elected in 2027.

Drawing a comparison with football, Fubara said continuity is key to success, noting that Nigerians should rally behind the president to sustain ongoing reforms and national development efforts.

The governor also used the occasion to emphasize unity among the people of southern Nigeria, despite cultural and linguistic differences. He noted that collaboration with the federal government would accelerate development and improve the standard of living across the region.

Fubara commended traditional rulers for their role in maintaining peace and serving as a bridge between government and the grassroots. He urged them to remain committed to promoting ility, security, and cooperation within their communities.

Among dignitaries present at the meeting were Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Cletus Ilomuanya, Rashidi Ladoja, and Chike Worlu Wodo, alongside other traditional rulers from the South South, South East, and South West regions.

The meeting focused on strengthening the role of traditional institutions in fostering unity, peace, and sustainable development across southern Nigeria.
