Former aspirant for the position of National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Chukwuebuka Obidike, has clarified that he has no intention of contesting for the office at the party’s upcoming national convention.
In an interview with our correspondent, Obidike dismissed reports suggesting he was preparing to re-enter the race, describing them as misleading. He emphasized that he has neither declared nor shown interest in contesting for the influential position.
The Clarivo Oil and Gas CEO explained that his decision should not be seen as a withdrawal from party activities or a lack of commitment to the APC. Instead, he said it reflects a personal choice to focus on strengthening his business interests while continuing to support the party’s growth in other capacities.
Asked if he had a preferred candidate for the National Youth Leader position, Obidike said he has not endorsed anyone, stressing that the process should remain fair, open, and guided strictly by the party’s constitution and internal democratic principles.
Obidike, who also serves as Executive Director of Clarivo Holdings Limited, noted that he would be willing to serve the APC in any other capacity where his expertise is deemed useful.
He further emphasized the need for unity, discipline, and cohesion within the party as preparations for the national convention advance. According to him, party leaders, delegates, and members must place collective interests above personal ambitions to strengthen the APC and secure electoral success.
Urging youths within the party to remain constructive and focused, Obidike highlighted the importance of responsible participation and meaningful engagement in sustaining the APC’s vision at both national and grassroots levels.
