Delta Governor Mourns Aide Sunday Kotor, Describes Death as Painful Loss

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden death of his Senior Special Assistant on Protocol, Sunday Kotor, who reportedly d after collapsing at a private event on Friday evening.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, the governor described Kotor’s passing as a painful loss to the Delta State Government and the people at large. He noted that the late aide was a dedicated public servant who carried out his duties with commitment and professionalism.

According to the governor, Kotor’s contribution to government activities, particularly in protocol and event coordination, was invaluable. He said the late aide consistently gave his best and played a key role in ensuring the smooth organization of official functions.

Oborevwori extended his condolences to the Kotor family, especially to his younger brother, Conference Kotor, who also serves as Senior Special Assistant on media. He emphasized that the loss would be deeply felt not only by the family but across government circles.

Sunday Kotor was widely known at Government House in Asaba, where he served as a Master of Ceremonies for over two decades. He worked under successive administrations, including those of former governors Emmanuel Uduaghan and Ifeanyi Okowa, and continued his service under the current administration.

A graduate of Mass Communication from Delta State University Abraka, Kotor hailed from Okwagbe in Ughievwen Kingdom, Ughelli South Local Government Area.

His death marks the end of a long and impactful career in public service, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and excellence.
