Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has officially announced his intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives under the All Progressives Congress.

The nightlife entrepreneur made the declaration in a viral video while addressing stakeholders of the APC, where he stated his plan to represent the Orsu, Orlu and Oru East Federal Constituency.

His entry into partisan politics follows his recent alignment with the City Boys Movement, a pro government support group that gained visibility during the 2023 elections and has remained active in political mobilisation.

In his address, Cubana Chief Priest framed his ambition as a desire to serve rather than benefit personally from public office, saying his focus is on community development and empowerment.

He stated that he is not entering politics to enrich himself but to contribute his resources and influence toward improving his constituency and supporting development projects.

The socialite emphasized that his decision was driven by a desire to make a positive impact, positioning himself as a grassroots oriented candidate willing to invest in his people.

His announcement has sparked widespread reactions across social media platforms, with supporters praising his confidence, visibility, and philanthropic engagements over the years.

However, critics have questioned his political experience, raising concerns about his preparedness for legislative responsibilities at the national level.

Observers note that his entry adds to the growing trend of entertainers and public figures transitioning into Nigerian politics, particularly ahead of future elections.

Political analysts say his popularity could help mobilize young voters, but his success may depend on party structure, political strategy, and grassroots acceptance within his constituency.

As campaigns gradually shape up ahead of the next election cycle, Cubana Chief Priest’s declaration adds another high profile dimension to Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.
