Bournemouth Set £100m Price Tag on Alex Scott Amid Manchester United Interest

Bournemouth have placed a hefty £100 million minimum price tag on midfielder Alex Scott as Manchester United’s interest in the 23-year-old continues to simmer. The Cherries are determined to ward off suitors after the England international rejected a new contract offer during the summer.

Scott’s performances last season helped Bournemouth secure a European qualification spot, cementing his status as one of the club’s most valuable assets. His contract snub has sparked widespread speculation about a potential departure in future transfer windows.

What happens when ambition meets loyalty? Manchester United manager Michael Carrick had identified Scott as a midfield target before eventually signing Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Carlos Baleba. The trio completed United’s midfield rebuild, but Scott remained on the club’s radar throughout the window.

The £100 million valuation reflects Bournemouth’s growing financial muscle and their refusal to become a selling club for elite sides. Several Premier League clubs reportedly showed interest alongside United, though none met the asking price.

Scott’s situation mirrors the modern transfer market’s inflation, where homegrown talent commands premium fees. His decision to turn down fresh terms suggests he’s considering his options carefully.

Bournemouth’s hardline stance makes any January move unlikely. United will need to weigh whether Scott’s potential justifies such a significant outlay, especially after already investing heavily in midfield reinforcements this past summer.
