Prominent Nigerian businessman and social commentator Prince Isaac Fayose has launched a scathing on President Bola Tinubu’s administration, citing the worsening hunger crisis that he says has reduced citizens to desperate beggars even at celebrity weddings. Speaking in a video shared on his official Facebook page Sunday, Fayose pointed to scenes from the recent wedding of popular content creators Peller and Jarvis as evidence of the nation’s economic collapse, noting that street youths seeking food outnumbered actual invited guests at the high profile event.
Fayose described witnessing a disturbing spectacle of area boys running after vehicles and humbling themselves in their search for sustenance, a scene he characterized as proof of massive hunger sweeping across Nigeria. He congratulated the couple but said the overwhelming presence of desperate young people on the streets overshadowed the celebration itself. According to the businessman, these young men appeared to have accepted their fate as people destined to live in perpetual poverty and hunger, a resignation that speaks volumes about the state of hope in Africa’s most populous nation.
Taking direct aim at President Tinubu, Fayose condemned recent comments attributed to the Nigerian leader in which he allegedly claimed that hunger had existed even before he was born.
