Amazon Brings Easy AI Video Ads to UK Businesses

Amazon Ads has introduced a new AI-powered video tool in the UK that helps businesses quickly create video ads without needing big budgets or fancy equipment.

The tool, called the Video Generator, is part of Amazon’s Creative Studio. It lets brands upload product photos, existing videos, or even just a product page from Amazon’s website. From there, the AI creates six different video ads to choose from. Advertisers can keep generating more videos and make simple edits using a built-in editor.

Best of all, it’s free to use. Amazon says the tool can make “professional-quality” videos that show products in real-life settings.

Phil Christer, who leads Amazon Ads in the UK, said video ads have always been powerful but hard to make because of the cost and time involved. “We’re removing those barriers for UK businesses,” he said.

Right now, the videos can only be used on Amazon’s website and app. But Amazon is open to expanding the tool to other platforms like Prime Video in the future. Kabir Bedi, who heads the AI product team, said they’re watching closely to see if there’s demand for TV-quality videos.

The tool is especially aimed at small and medium-sized businesses that don’t have the money or staff to make traditional ads. Bedi said the goal is to make video creation “low-touch and low-effort” so that any business, no matter its size, can use it. “Shoppers love videos,” he added. “They help bring products to life.”

The Video Generator has been available in the US since June and is now rolling out globally. Amazon says thousands of ad campaigns have already been created using it. Interestingly, 60% of the products promoted through the tool had never used Amazon’s Sponsored Brand video ads before, showing that the AI tool is helping new brands get started with video advertising.
