Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan has appealed to aggrieved members of the Peoples Democratic Party to resolve their internal disputes peacefully following recent judicial developments. Her call comes amid growing controversy over the latest Supreme Court of Nigeria judgement, which has sparked differing interpretations within the party.

Reacting to the situation through her media aide Sam Idoko, the senator cautioned party members against spreading misinformation about the court ruling. She clarified that the judgement was limited in scope and only addressed the validity of the Ibadan Convention. According to her, other issues circulating within the party including matters related to leadership positions were not part of the court decision.

Akpoti Uduaghan specifically noted that concerns surrounding the suspension of Samuel Anyanwu were unrelated to the judgement. She explained that his suspension had already lapsed on December 1 2025 and that he had since been appointed to a caretaker committee. This clarification, she said, should help reduce confusion and unnecessary tension among party stakeholders.

The senator emphasized the importance of unity within the party, urging members to prioritize dialogue and reconciliation over division. She expressed optimism about the future of the PDP, stating that the party remains strong and capable of competing effectively in the 2027 general elections. According to her, the PDP is well positioned to field candidates across the country and secure a significant number of seats.

Despite the ongoing tensions, Akpoti Uduaghan maintained a conciliatory tone and extended goodwill not only to PDP members but also to other political parties. She encouraged a spirit of cooperation and peaceful engagement as the nation gradually prepares for the next electoral cycle.
